Overview

This proposal covers development of the new site: building the approved design, wireframes, and content in WordPress, hosted on WP Engine with the domain connected. Design and content are finalized and ready to move into build.

Goals

  • WordPress site built to the approved design and specs
  • Hosted and configured on WP Engine, with the domain connected
  • Technical SEO fundamentals in place at launch

Scope of Work

WordPress Theme Build & Implementation

Build the site in WordPress to the approved Figma design and wireframes, using the copy, assets, and images supplied by Angry Butterfly and ORFA.

WP Engine Setup

Environment setup and configuration on WP Engine, plus minimal domain connection. Hosting and any other third-party costs pass through to the client at cost, no markup.

Technical SEO Setup

SSL, XML sitemap submitted to Search Console, clean permalink structure, meta titles and descriptions, image alt text, and a mobile and Core Web Vitals baseline. Does not include ongoing SEO strategy or campaign work.

QA & Revisions

One internal review round and two client review rounds, per the production schedule.

Launch

Final client review, approvals, and go-live.

Assumptions

  • Wireframes, art direction, copy, and all assets/images are supplied by Angry Butterfly and ORFA before development begins
  • A domain is available and ready to connect
  • No major scope or design changes once development is underway

What's Not Included

Outside the base scope unless added back in:

  • Full brand strategy, logo, naming, or a full visual identity system
  • Copywriting, legal/compliance content, or original editorial
  • Photography, video, illustration, or stock asset sourcing
  • CRM, marketing automation, or back-office integrations beyond what's scoped
  • A formal accessibility audit or WCAG/AODA compliance sign-off. Supplied materials are implemented as given, not separately reviewed for accessibility
  • SEO strategy or ongoing campaign work, beyond basic launch preservation
  • Paid licenses, plugins, hosting (including WP Engine), or other third-party costs, billed direct to the client
  • Content changes requested after approval, beyond the included support window

Payment

Upon approval and project kickoff (est. Oct 27, 2026)40%
Staging build delivered (est. Nov 10, 2026)40%
Final delivery and launch approval (est. Nov 26, 2026)20%

Dates are estimates based on the production schedule provided and may shift with it. Invoices are net 30. Late invoices are subject to a 1.5% monthly charge.

Changes to Scope

Work outside this scope, or requested after the included review rounds, is quoted separately or billed hourly, your choice depending on size.

Additional work rate: CAD $150/hour + tax. Larger changes get a fixed-fee quote instead.

Review & Client Responsibilities

  • One internal review round and two client review rounds are included, as laid out in the production schedule. Additional reasonable rounds are fine; revisions outside the approved scope, or an excessive number of extra rounds, bill at the rate above.
  • Jennifer is the point of contact on the client side. Angry Butterfly and ORFA are responsible for supplying content, assets, and approvals on schedule to keep the timeline on track.
  • The client provides any accounts, credentials, or system access the project needs, including hosting and domain access, unless otherwise agreed.
  • Either side can end the engagement with written notice. If work has started, James invoices the greater of work completed or 50% of the total fee, minus any deposit paid. Deposits aren't refundable once work starts.

Warranty & Ongoing Support

90 days on defects in what was delivered, within the agreed scope. Doesn't cover new features, new content, third-party changes, client edits, or anything requested after delivery.

An ongoing support retainer is available separately: 10 hours/month minimum at $1000/month, or a custom agreement can be set up.

Acceptance

This proposal is valid 30 days from the date above. Pricing may change if accepted later.
